This is by far the smallest of the surviving Corsican etchings. It is the same size as an unfinished plate, Sheep 487.
The copper plate was in Whistler's studio at his death and was given to the University of Glasgow by Rosalind Birnie Philip (1873-1958) in 1935. It was cancelled posthumously with a diagonal line across the lower right corner.
