Signed with a butterfly at right, above centre.
The composition is complete.

State 2

Etching: K3820203
The doorway is strongly shaded; deep shading is added in the open part of the second-storey window, clarifying the figure and lamp within; the upper part of the window is equally divided and filled with shaded panes; the stonework of the balcony is defined.

State 3

Etching: K3820308
Several more panes in the second-storey window, and the panes in the transom window above, are shaded.

State 4

Etching: K3820302
The shading in the second-storey window has been softened and unified by slight rubbing and possibly very fine additional shading in the upper left corner.

State 4 (cancelled)

Etching: PS_K382_01
Cancelled with a diagonal line.
