Fine, nearly vertical drypoint lines shade the space between the railing and the child standing to right of the cart.

State 3

Short left to right diagonal drypoint lines (\\\) are added below the edge of the awning on the centre shop; additional diagonal drypoint shading darkens a light area above the heads of the two walking women.

State 4

Etching: K2690301
The butterfly is shaded with fine drypoint lines; patches of drypoint lines are added to the lower panes of two windows above the central shop; etched shading is added above the heads of the two walking women to right of centre and to all the window panes and interior of the shop at the right.
