The copper plate was owned by Mortimer Luddington Menpes (1860-1938), who printed an edition of 500 in 1904.
The plate has not been located. It was similar in size to several other plates, including two town scenes - Cottage Door 252 and St James's Park 250; and small figure studies - Woman sleeping in a chair 401 and The Fur Tippet: Miss Lenoir 365 - dating from about 1887 or 1888. It is also close in size to several etchings that date from 1888, including Market Women: Turkeys 424, Theatre, Loches 418, and Hôtel de la Promenade, Loches 415.
