TECHNIQUE

It was drawn with very fine, delicate, repeated drypoint lines over the body, and bolder patches of shading in the background.

PRINTING

The sole known impression was printed in black ink on ivory laid paper with a foolscap watermark; it was a sheet from a book or ledger, and the stitching holes are visible ().
