EXHIBITIONS

An impression was lent by Samuel Putnam Avery (1822-1904) to an exhibition at the Union League Club in New York in 1881 and to a show organised by the Caxton Club in Chicago in 1900 (). 9

An impression was exhibited by H. Wunderlich & Co., in New York in 1898 and bought by Charles Lang Freer (1856-1919) (). 10

After Whistler's death, Howard Mansfield (1849-1938) lent an impression to the Whistler Memorial exhibition held in Boston in 1904 (). 11 Two impressions were also shown at the Grolier Club in New York in 1904 and one at the London Memorial Exhibition in 1905. 12
