The copper plate bears two small partial oval stamps by the maker, 'HUGHES & KIMBER / MANUFACTURERS / LONDON, E.C.' It is similar in size to the portrait of her sister, Elinor Leyland 137, and close in size to
several plates including The Desk 129 and
Nude Reclining 126.
The plate was first cancelled lightly with a series of complete and partial 'X's, and published in the 'Cancelled Set'. It was then restored, and finally cancelled with two prominent vertical lines. The cancelled plate is now in the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC.
