J. Becquet, sculptor probably dates from 1859. Whistler was in Paris in 1859 and etched several similar portraits including
C. L. Drouet, Sculptor 035 and
Z. Astruc, Editor of 'L'Artiste' 036, which are both dated '1859' on the plate.
