The copper plate does not have a maker's stamp on the verso but was probably acquired from Hughes & Kimber, London. It is the same size as Landscape with Horses 045, and as two later Hughes & Kimber's plates (Islands: Evening 204, Old Women 234).
The plate was cancelled with crossed diagonal lines. It was cancelled in 1894 or 1895 and bought by Charles Lang Freer (1856-1919) in 1896 with the other plates from the 'Thames Set', and was bequeathed to the Freer Gallery of Art in 1919. 16
