Greenhithe dates from 1877. The butterfly signature is consistent with this date. The earliest sales occurred in October 1877. 1

It was referred to by H. Stewart Cundell in April 1878 as among 'recent plates'. 2 Other etchings of this date include Free Trade Wharf [171], London Bridge [172] and Battersea Morn [174].
