Print note:There is a pronounced tonal area with evidence of stopping out on rightmost central palace has qualities of sugar/salt/sand ground or possibly lavis; the plate signature may be the only use of drypoint; there are distinct areas of scratches, burnishing and corrosion near plate edges at sides and bottom; printed with light plate tone. State: plate butterfly signature in drypoint similar to Kennedy illustration for II/III, with cross-hatched shading behind wings; upper tips of butterfly wings and antenae also more clearly defined than on 1952.545%Condition: small areas of grey - most likely stains - at centre left.
