Notes on inscriptions:The collector's mark (L.1487) on the recto is unidentified by Lugt, however, a graphite marginal inscription identifies the collection as 'Michelin'; prints from the collection of Jules Michelin (L.1490) were sold in 1898, and although Lugt does not mention Whistler among the artists in Michelin's collection, his sale included a number of prints by Haden.
