Doorway, Stables - Loches dates from 1888.
During their honeymoon, Beatrice and James Whistler visited Tours between 15 and 27 September 1888, and were in Loches between about 15 October and November 1888.
The plate is similar in size to other etchings done in Loches and Tours including Rue des Bons Enfants, Tours 392, Booth, Market Place, Loches 425, and Tour Saint Antoine, Loches 414.
