EXHIBITIONS

No exhibition is known in Whistler's life time. Two impressions were shown after Whistler's death at the Grolier Club in New York in 1904, one of which was lent by Freer (Graphic with a link to impression #K3430102). It was also shown in the Whistler Memorial Exhibition in London in 1905. 5

SALES & COLLECTORS

Charles Lang Freer (1856-1919) bought an impression from the print dealers H. Wunderlich & Co. in 1900 (Graphic with a link to impression #K3430102). Five impressions were kept by Whistler, bequeathed to Rosalind Birnie Philip (1873-1958) and given by her to the University of Glasgow (Graphic with a link to impression #K3430007, Graphic with a link to impression #K3430106, Graphic with a link to impression #K3430105, Graphic with a link to impression #K3430104, Graphic with a link to impression #K3430103).
