Vauxhall Bridge is dated '1861' on the copper plate. According to Ralph Thomas it was etched on 18 February 1861. 1

At least twenty etchings date from 1861, including six of the river Thames, Millbank [78], Westminster Bridge in Progress [77], The Little Pool [79], Battersea Dawn (Cadogan Pier) [95] and Old Hungerford Bridge [76]. One of these - The Little Pool [79] - was the title sheet for the 'Thames Set' and two others - Millbank [78] and Battersea Dawn (Cadogan Pier) [95] - were published with that set in 1871.

1: Thomas 1874, cat. no. 46.

The three other Thames subjects, Vauxhall Bridge, Westminster Bridge in Progress [77] and The Little Rotherhithe [74], may have been etched in 1861 with the intention of being included, but in the end they were not published.
