PRINTING

There was a limited print-run. Impressions were printed on a variety of papers. One is in black ink on cream laid paper (Graphic with a link to impression #K2760102), another on ivory (darkened to buff) with the watermark of an Eagle with the Basel Crozier (Graphic with a link to impression #K2760104). Others are in dark brown ink on ivory laid paper (Graphic with a link to impression #K2760103) and fine cream laid paper watermarked 'D' (Graphic with a link to impression #K2760201). All are trimmed to the platemark and signed on the tab with a butterfly and 'imp.' to show that Whistler had printed them.
