Note on the paper:Textured and flecked with grey and brown fibres. Its edges are cut. A close examination of the paper was prevented as the etching has been attached to the mount.

Print tone:The print tone is light. It is slightly more pronounced at the right side and in the sky at the upper right.  
Note on foul biting:There is foul biting around the edges and pitting particularly in the foreground where it is fine but dense, also to the right of the woman's head and at the upper right.  
Print note:There is a fluid line bounded by pitting along the lower edge that is probably the boundary line where stopping out varnish applied. There is a smudginess from the ink in the foreground. There is a very rich inking effect in the garments of the woman seated in the immediate foreground.
