Robert Howard Russell founded the firm of Russell and Sons, New York publishers.
Life:
Robert Howard Russell was the publisher of the New York edition of Whistler, James McNeill, Eden versus Whistler: The Baronet and the Butterfly. A Valentine with a Verdict, Paris and New York, 1899 [GM, A.24]. His relationship with Whistler was not entirely satisfactory (see, for instance, Whistler's letter to Heinemann, GUW #10814).
